In marketing strategies, product strategies come first. Of course, you cannot sell anything if you don’t have a product. You may already know what kind of product or service you want your business to offer, but not knowing whether people may buy it or not could be a chase in the dark.

The first thing you can do to avoid risking a lot of your capital in a product or service that won’t even make it to the attention of the marketplace is to test market. Test marketing may include creating samples of your product. There are multiple ways in which you can get feedbacks from your customers. One is to use the prototype of your product to be shown to a certain number of your target customer or market and let them touch, smell, see or experience using your product to get opinions from them. Another is by comparing your product or services to the products and services offered by other companies or your competition. Ask your customers what they like in other companies’ products and in yours too. This will help you determine if your product stands a chance against theirs.
Before showing your sample product to prospect buyers, just be sure that you have already determined the correct and fair price, delivery information, and where to buy it so that if your prospect buyer likes it and asks questions on how to get your product, you already know the answers.
